The Tree (Part I)
A bird descended on to the Tree
Landing in an elegant way
A tale of woes she went on narrating
About hunger and the empty pots of clay
The Tree listened calmly, consoling her
Pumping energy and prepping her for the next day
A crying traveller through the forest
Suddenly came and hugged him tight
A big fortune he had lost
Courtesy to the thieves, escaping from a fight
The Tree gave him his sweetest fruits
Making him forget his greif, curving a smile bright
A squirrel chased her partner on a branch
Save me, oh wise tree! shrieked the scared fellow
The Tree enquired, her 2nd trimester was on
And a mango she demanded wasn't quite yellow
The Tree curved up his vines to form a swing
The squirrels merried and sang on it with a smile mellow
One fine morning, a 2 day old Shoot
Parted from the world, still mute
Her daddy, the Tree went pale, aah! the pain was brute
A child he had lost; he cried, only managing a toot
The Tree looked for comfort
Someone to help him with his sorrow
The Traveller, the squirrels, the bird
Or the hoarse singing sparrow
Even his creator in the village north
One with the golden headed arrow
None could console him
further weakening his marrow!
